Michael D. Farkas is an American entrepreneur, investor, and energy-technology executive best known as the founder and Executive Chairman of NextNRG Inc., an AI-driven energy infrastructure company focused on smart grids, microgrids, EV charging, and intelligent utility systems.

He founded NextNRG in 2025 and serves as Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, controlling a majority ownership stake and leading the company’s strategy to deploy AI-optimized energy infrastructure and decentralized power systems.

Farkas is also widely known as the founder and former Chairman and CEO of Blink Charging Co., one of the early electric-vehicle charging network companies, which he founded in 2009 and helped scale into a publicly traded EV infrastructure platform.
