Xiaomi will launch the much-anticipated Redmi Note 10 series in India later this week. Similar to the Redmi Note 9 series, the new lineup will comprise a host of devices, beginning from the vanilla Redmi Note 10 and going all the way up to the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max. In the last few months, we’ve witnessed many leaks regarding the forthcoming devices, which have given us a glimpse of their design and specs. But, Xiaomi didn’t share any information about the devices officially until today.
Xiaomi India’s Managing Director, Manu Kumar Jain, recently took to Twitter to announce that the Redmi Note series is ultimately making the jump to AMOLED panels with the upcoming Redmi Note 10 lineup.
A poll was created. As was expected, an overwhelming majority of users picked AMOLED over the high refresh rate LCD panel. Although Xiaomi deleted the poll, it appears that the company has decided to go with popular demand. Till now, it isn’t clear if any of the devices in the lineup will get a high refresh rate panel. But, based on earlier leaks, it is suspected that the top-of-the-line Redmi Note 10 Pro Max may feature a 120Hz Super AMOLED panel. If that’s the scenario, the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max will surely reign supreme in the budget smartphone space in 2021, at least on the display front.
In the case of the earlier coverage of the Redmi Note 10 lineup, leaks imply that the Redmi Note 10 Pro will be a 4G device, which will run MIUI 12 out of the box. It will comprise a 120Hz panel with MEMC tech and a quad-camera setup on the back with a 64MP primary camera, a wide-angle camera, a macro camera, and a depth sensor. It will pack a huge 5,050mAh battery, and it will be based on Qualcomm’s SM7150 platform (Snapdragon 732G).
Leaks regarding the vanilla Redmi Note 10, on the other hand, reveal that it will have a 6.53-inch FHD+ display, a huge 5,900mAh battery, an undefined octa-core processor clocked at 2GHz, up to 8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of storage. It will also feature a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a triple camera setup on the back, a single selfie shooter accommodated within a waterdrop-style notch, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Till now, there is no further information regarding the other devices in the Redmi Note 10 lineup. But it is expected to b moe revealed more in just a few days when Xiaomi officially lifts the covers off the lineup.
Update: 120Hz AMOLED display confirmed
Shortly after the above announcement, Xiaomi shared another tweet asserting that the Redmi Note 10 series will comprise of a 120Hz high refresh rate AMOLED panel. Though the company hasn’t precisely confirmed which device in the Redmi Note 10 lineup will include the high refresh rate AMOLED panel, it can be assumed that it will be the top-of-the-line Redmi Note 10 Pro Max. As mentioned before, this feature only can make the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max one of the most desirable budget-friendly devices in 2021.
