Covering a Quarter-Mile in 8.27 Seconds, Ford’s New Mustang Electric Makes it’s First Public Appearance this Weekend.

This weekend at the United States nationals, Ford Mustang Cobra Jet 1400 will make its first public appearance. The other day we saw Lucid Motors dragging its EV and Ford has now released its Mustang electrically engineered footage. Ford claims that the prototype Mustang Cobra Jet 1400 can cover a quarter-mile in 8.27 seconds. This month, the company plans to drive the car in the U.S. Nationals, competing against a gas-powered Mustang Cobra Jet.

As stated by the global director, Mark Rushbrook, they have continued to fine-tune the engine for this high electrical strength in a drag-racing environment.

He also explained things are all well and good for now, but once they get a few runs, they will create reasonable speculation so that cars like this and the eCOPO Camaro can be put on some real races.
